Check out these Pet-friendly wineries In Napa

TO ALL YOU DOG OWNERS & DOG LOVERS OUT THERE:

What’s better than having a beautiful view, a nice glass of wine, and your best friend by your side?

If you feel bad leaving your pup at home and would prefer to spend your hard earned money on a day in Napa and some nice wine BRING YOUR FURRY FRIEND WITH YOU! I have gone out and visited as well as researched places that allow dogs and often times have dogs on their property (Take caution if your dog isn’t friendly with other dogs, as many winery pups are off leash and wander around!)

Here is the list as well as my notes about each spot and the discount offers for all priority wine pass members.

Vezer Family Vineyard (Susiun Valley): Complimentary Tasting ($15 value)

This property is lovely as it has 2 different tasting rooms as well as an estate tour. Very laid back and casual they have great wines at decent prices and are always so welcoming. Located near the Meritage resort in South Napa they are a small boutique winery with some tasty wines. If you ask nicely they will sometimes let you taste from the barrel

Leaf & Vine Winery (Napa): 50% off tasting and meet the winemaker ($25+value)

This tasting experience is next door to Bourassa (so might as well enjoy both!) You’ll get to meet and taste with the owner and winemaker, Tim. He is wonderful and it’s a very rare opportunity for winos to get the chance to meet with the winemakers.

Avinodos (Napa): 2 for 1 Tasting and Barrel Tasting and a meet and greet with the winemaker ($25 value)

This winery is wonderful, another rare opportunity to meet and taste with the owner and winemaker. It’s in the crusher district in South Napa and is a small tasting room. You get a very personable experience and sometimes Dan will pour out of his barrel for you as well. Dogs will love it, reservations required!

Twenty Rows Winery: (Downtown napa): 2 for 1 tasting with reservation ($25 value)

If you’re staying in downtown Napa you can easily walk to this hidden little gem. A casual spot for wine tasting and their tasting room is like a ‘man cave’ with sporting games on and comfortable furniture. They have awesome wine for the price point!

Pure Cru (Downtown Napa): Happy Hour Glasses of Wine All the time or Two Complimentary tastings with the purchase of One Bottle ($25+ value)

Next to Oenotri in downtown Napa this lovely spot with a variety of wines, always out and ready to pour! They are a nice tasting room with a small outdoor area (you can even have food delivered from Oentori to the tasting room) Maybe not the place for active pets, but well-trained dogs would do just fine!

Judds Hill Winery (Silverado Trail Napa): 2 for 1 walk in Tasting or Cardholders will enjoy a special rate of $100 per couple (normally $135) for the Judd’s Hill Wine and Food in Balance Seminar. (RESERVATION required)

Known for: Pinot, Sauv Blanc, Chardonnay, Syrah, Cabs, Meritage, Blends

This winery is one of a kind. The people are amazing as is the wine. It’s primarily a custom crush facility so they often times have people making wine in the back. Its also super pet-friendly (they have a winery dog!)

Hagafen (Silverado Trail Napa): 2 for 1 tastings (except SATURDAYS)($25 value)

Known for: Riesling, Late Harvest, CAB, Merlot, Tempranillo, Red blends, Sparkling, Sweet wines, pinot

Hill Family Estate (Yountville): 2 for 1 tasting experience ($25 value)

They’re also a small tasting room in downtown Yountville so a great spot to consider if you’re doing a walking tour of tasting rooms with your pup! Casual atmosphere, easy going people and fabulous rose!

Jessup Cellars (Yountville): 2 for 1 tastings ($40 value)
They’re also a small tasting room in downtown Yountville so a great spot to consider if you’re doing a walking tour of tasting rooms with your pup! They have some fabulous chardonnay, cab, and merlot! Interesting art and interesting and brilliant winos! Not to miss!

Alpha Omega (Rutherford)

Beautiful property with a lawn and a picnic area (need reservations for picnics) as well as a beautiful property out front. With a view of a waterfall, and luscious green vineyards, Alpha Omega is an all day hang out spot! You often times see dogs on leashes lounging by their owner or running around near the picnic area.

They have an adorable pup on property who meanders through the tasting room and the vineyards. They also allow picnics! Definitely need a reservation but highly recommended.

Whitehall Lane Winery (St. Helena): 2 for 1 Tasting or 50% off tasting ($25 value).
OR With a Reservation and a Purchase of Two Reserve Tastings Receive a Complimentary Charcuterie platter ($30 value)

V.Sattui Winery (St. Helena): Two for One Tastings ($25+value)

This winery is an iconic one and they only sell their wine direct to consumer (meaning you can only buy the wine at their winery and not anywhere else). They have an awesome Italian Style deli and their environment is active and festive and full of life with lots of people. It’s one of the most popular places and their tasting room is always packed. I always tell people to bring picnic blankets as well as their tables fill up often times. They have a huge property and lots of space for pups to run (well run around people so keep that in mind!)

Clos Pegase (Calistoga)2 for 1 tasting and 20% off wine with wine pass ($25+ value)

This winery is a dog heaven (well that’s because they have a huge courtyard area with a big lawn and lots of bocce balls hanging around). They have some great Chardonnay and also a few bistro tables outside to enjoy a picnic and a bottle after and you can let your dog run free.

Pope Valley Winery (Pope Valley): 2 for 1 tasting ($20 Value)

Way up the mountain, this winery is a bit of a trek to get to but well worth it once you’re up there. They also have a winery dog (super friendly) and their staff is amazing. This winery has a casual scene, great energy, and wonderful wine. Amazing for the price point. You can also picnic at this spot as well

Amici Cellars (Calistoga): 15% off on a CASE purchase

This little-hidden gem is pretty authentic. Nothing fancy, but you see lots of winemaking equipment and often times during harvest a lot of grape crushing which is a fun activity for the family. They have a couple winery dogs and are very friendly. Reservations are required! -Up in north Napa Valley in Calistoga.

Envy Wines (Calistoga): 2 for 1 Tasting before Noon ($25 value)

I would definitely visit this spot early in the day! It has fabulous morning light with birds chirping and a comfy cozy atmosphere. The inside tasting room isn’t big so I would bring your pup early in the day again if you have a larger dog. Their rosé is fantastic!

Dutch Henry Winery (Silverado Trail Calistoga):  2 for 1 tasting!

This is an awesome lunch spot and has the feel of a small time farm. They’re an organic and sustainable winery and have chickens running around, fresh olive oil to taste, some winery cats and dogs. They don’t have many white wines if any so if you’re not a red wine fine it may not be the ideal spot. They also have some great picnic tables in the shade as well as a lovely spot near the vineyards with a bocce ball court! Lots of space for dogs to run around!

AoNair (Howell Mountain): Complimentary tastings with purchases

Nestled up off the beaten path this winery is a small production, by appointment only, and is stunning! They have an indoor and outdoor fireplace and a wonderful terrace where you sit in wine barrel chairs that are incredibly comfortable and have a stunning view of the hills and vineyards. Their wine is delicious! They even have some doggie beds for pets Not to mention a tequila and whiskey bar!! Don’t miss out on this one!
