Beringer is a must-visit Napa Valley institution. It was founded back in 1876 and is the longest continuously operating winery in Napa Valley. In fact, they can hold this title since they were among the few US wineries that continued to produce wine for the catholic church during prohibition.
On top of this, Beringer the first in the valley to make use of hand dug caves. They were also the first to offer winery tours starting in the 1930’s. Something they’ve definitely perfected. Exploring their property is like walking back in time. You’ll get to see their antique fermenting tanks and walk through their impressive wine caves.
While we’ve focused on the history their incredible wine portfolio is equally noteworthy. They are America’s most awarded winery offering a wine for every palate. Our recommendation is to grab a few glasses and enjoy their stunning outdoor spaces. If you do you’ll understand why we’ve included it in our Best Wineries in Napa series.
