When the Harlan family bought a 180 acre vineyard in Lake Country in 1903, they never dreamed it would turn into a business housing the newest state of the art tasting room on the Silverado Trail. Arden “Burt” Harlan grew up on the family vineyard in Kelsyville, Ca. After graduating high school, Arden moved to Fresno State to get his business/finance/accounting degree then raise a family in Sacramento. His son, Brian Harlan went to college in Southern California and quickly realized his passion for winemaking. Brian decided to move to Napa Valley to pursue his dreams. “Stealing” some grapes from Grandpas’ Zinfandel vineyard, Brian made his first vintage in 2007 while working in a neighboring winery during the day and bartending at night. Brian met his wife, Amanda in high school and they were reunited in 2012 when both of their passions brought them together in Napa Valley.Together, with the help of Arden, they purchased 2 acres in Calistoga and started building their winery and tasting room that is now known as Brian Arden Winery.
Our Wines
At Brian Arden we believe that hand crafted wines can only be produced in small amounts so we don’t bottle more than 300 cases of any varietal. Winemaker, BrianHarlan and assistant winemaker, Sam Garske, are of course, biased to our Zinfandel, sourced from our family property that was planted in the 1800’s, but we also find love in producing 13 other varietals. We source our grapes from all around theValley from Coombsville to Rutherford to St. Helena and Calistoga. Our grapes are crushed onsite each harvest and fermented in 8 small stainless steel tanks. We never fine or filter our wines believing that it shows the truest expression of our small, carefully sourced vineyards. Our French Oak barrels are housed in our temperature controlled barrel room that stays at 59* with 75% humidity to protect our aging wines. We spare no expense at Brian Arden Winery to bring you the best limited production wines. Whether you are a fan of Sparkling, white or red wines, there is something for everyone at Brian Arden Winery. We look forward to hosting you and your friends at our small, family owned and run winery. Dog friendly people only please, our winery dogs will greet you at the door upon arrival.
