Our tasting experience consists of sampling four wines (including Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Syrah) at our shaded picnic table in the vineyard, or inside our 140-year old barn adjacent to the vineyard. Tastings are private, without overlapping with other groups, and typically are 45-60 minutes in length. Contact Chris Fife for further inquiries: (415)264-2098 or email@example.com
Canihan Winery is located on the border of Sonoma Coast and Carneros Appellations. So that means it offers cool ocean breezes, fog, and the perfect conditions for grapes. This is an easy one to drive by, but trust us when we say you’ll be very glad you discovered this gem. The wines are world-class. Seriously some of the best Pinot Noirs and Syrahs we’ve ever tasted. Tastings are private so that means reservations are required for a visit. It also means you’ll get to sit down with owner and winemaker Bill Canihan as he explains his organic wine making process. The tasting takes place in an outdoor country style setting making it feel laid back and welcoming. The wines found at Canihan Winery are testament to both the terroir and Bill Canihan’s winemaking process. His organic management processes like dry-farming, cane-pruning shows his attention to detail. They also hand harvest the fruit to ensure grapes are at their peak ripeness. When it comes to production time he uses naturally occurring native yeast which all combines to create his elegant wine. We’ve named this as one of the best wineries in Sonoma since it offers great wines and great conversation in a very intimate setting.
