Place Matters – Sonoma County, CA
In 1974, Rodney Strong Vineyards released Sonoma
County’s first Single Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon –
Alexander’s Crown. Today, this iconic Alexander Valley
Cabernet Sauvignon is joined by Rockaway and Brothers.
Each chosen from a single meticulously farmed estate vineyard, these limited-production releases are hand-crafted in our small lot Artisan Cellar, using Artiste winemaking techniques.
To craft our Reserve wines, we isolate small, individual
estate vineyard blocks that have proven over the years
to offer extraordinary depth of character. These lots are fermented separately in our small lot Artisan Cellar program, then evaluated again six months after fermentation to ensure they remain worthy of our limited-production Reserve program.
Our 14 estate vineyards are found in the Alexander
Valley, Russian River Valley, Sonoma Coast, Chalk Hill
and Knights Valley AVAs. Estate Collection wines are
crafted exclusively from these exceptional sites, showing
both the enormous range Sonoma County has to offer
and the exceptional pedigree of our vineyards.
Sourced primarily from our estate vineyards from Sonoma
County’s finest appellations, these wines are crafted
from Sonoma County fruit, capturing the beautifully
layered, balanced character of this extraordinary
winegrowing region that we call home.
