About Oregon
Oregon wine country is best known for the Willamette Valley, but Priority Wine Pass also reaches farther south into the Umpqua and Applegate valleys. Expect a more relaxed pace than many larger wine destinations, with scenic drives, smaller tasting rooms, and plenty of opportunities to talk directly with the people behind the wine. Standard Oregon wine tastings commonly land around $20–$35 per person, though reserve flights, food pairings, and private experiences can cost more.
If it is your first trip, choose one part of the Willamette Valley and build around it rather than trying to cover the whole region. Two or three wineries makes for a comfortable day, especially when appointments run an hour or more. Reservations are a good idea on weekends, and essential for smaller producers or special experiences. For longer trips, Umpqua and Applegate are worth treating as separate wine-country destinations rather than day-trip add-ons.
