The Santa Cruz Mountains and nearby South Bay wineries are known for small producers, winding roads, redwood-covered hills, and tasting rooms that often feel more personal than polished. Standard tastings commonly fall around $20–$35 per person, although private or reserve experiences may be higher.
Plan this region by geography, not by mileage. A few miles in the Santa Cruz Mountains can mean narrow roads and longer drive times, so two or three well-chosen stops is usually enough for the day.
